Raising Your Newspaper Test Grade
How to raise a low test score on the CA Studies Weekly Exam
If your score on a weekly Social Studies test is below 70%, you have the chance to raise it by doing the following:
a) On a new sheet of paper, copy the question(s) for which you received a low score. Be sure to skip at least 5 blank lines between each question you copy.
b) Carefully read through the newspaper (hard copy, or online) to find the correct answer(s).
c) When you find the correct answer, copy the part of the article that tells you the answer. Include at least 3 sentences (the answer, the sentence before the answer, and the one afterward). But: do NOT copy more than 4 sentences, or Mr. Stern can't tell if you actually know which one holds the answer!
d) For each new answer correctly given and supported with sentences from the paper, you will add 1/2 point to your total score.
